Combier Kummel Liqueur
Description
Combier Kummel is a sweet, colorless caraway liqueur from Combier Distillery in Saumur, France’s Loire Valley — blending the aromatic flavors of caraway seed, cumin, and fennel. A historic style cherished since the mid-19th century by British, Dutch, German, and Russian drinkers for its aromatic and digestive character.
Combier Distillery traces to 1834, when Jean-Baptiste Combier and his wife, local confectioners in Saumur, created the original Combier orange liqueur. Kummel is among the distillery’s historic recipes, known for its powerful lifted aromas and a refined taste held consistent for over 150 years — best served cold, neat or over ice, or in classic cocktails (it is the traditional ingredient in a “spring-clean” golf-clubhouse serve).
