Description

Creyente Azul Cristalino Añejo is the premium aged and filtered expression from Creyente — an artisanal mezcal from Oaxaca's Valles Centrales and Sierra Sur regions, produced using handpicked peak-maturity Espadín and Cuishe agaves cooked in traditional underground pit ovens, crushed with a tahona stone wheel, double distilled in copper pot stills, aged in new American oak, finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and then filtered through a proprietary process to achieve the crystal clarity and incomparable smoothness that defines the Cristalino style.

The Creyente Azul represents the brand's most complex and refined expression — the production process layers traditional mezcal craftsmanship (underground pit ovens, tahona crushing, copper pot distillation) with a premium aging and finishing program (American oak then PX sherry) before the cristalino filtration removes the color while preserving the richness of all that prior work. Frequently Asked Questions

Is a cristalino mezcal different from a cristalino tequila?

The concept is the same — aged spirit filtered to crystal clarity — but the production regulations, agave varieties, and flavor profiles differ significantly. Mezcal cristalinos carry the earthier, smoother character of traditional Oaxacan production beneath the crystal-clear appearance, while tequila cristalinos are based on Blue Weber agave without the earth pit roasting that defines mezcal's smoky character.
