Cutwater Rayador Anejo Tequilla
Description
Cutwater Rayador Añejo Tequila is a masterfully crafted spirit that pays homage to the rich heritage of tequila production in Tequila, Mexico. This tequila is made from 100% blue agave, cultivated and slow-cooked in traditional brick ovens, ensuring the authentic character of the agave is preserved. The agave undergoes open fermentation and is then double distilled in "alambique" stills crafted from stainless steel and copper. To add an intriguing twist, the tequila is rested in Cutwater whiskey barrels, which are shipped from the San Diego distillery to Jalisco, Mexico. After aging for over a year, Cutwater Rayador Añejo emerges with a lustrous amber hue and an intricate flavor profile that includes notes of oak, caramel, and bourbon vanilla. The bottling takes place in Jalisco, and the label showcases a hand-drawn skull of a Rayador (Black Skimmer sea bird), a nod to classic Mexican folk imagery and a tribute to the Cutwater name.
