Kōloa Kauaʻi Cacao Rum
Description
Kōloa Kauaʻi Cacao Rum is a Hawaiian cacao-flavored rum from Kōloa Rum Company in Kalaheo, Kauaʻi — distilled from raw cane sugar mash in an impressive vintage 1,210-gallon steam-powered copper pot still, twice distilled at 160–180 ABV, then cut with filtered water from the ancient Mount Waiʻaleʻale. The cacao expression layers chocolate character over the base Hawaiian rum.
Mount Waiʻaleʻale is one of the wettest places on earth, providing the producer with unique filtered water for proofing. The 1,210-gallon vintage steam-powered copper pot still is a centerpiece of the Kōloa production approach — producing a richer, more characterful rum than column still industrial production.
