Plantation Aged Rum Single Cask Zebra Cask 2008 Guyana
Description
Plantation Single Cask Zebra Cask 2008 Guyana is a limited-release single cask rum distilled at Demerara Distillers Ltd on pot stills — aged 9.5 years in bourbon casks in Guyana, then a further year in Ferrand casks and six months in “Zebra” casks (chestnut and acacia). Bottled at 47.1% ABV.
Plantation Single Cask rums are limited, double-aged releases: maturing first in the tropics in bourbon casks, then at the Château de Bonbonnet in France in Ferrand barrels, before a final finishing period in carefully selected beer, wine, or spirit casks. Each bottle is personalized and numbered, with only a few barrels bottled annually.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Complex — bitter almond and vanilla evolving to a phenolic profile of leather, allspice, and gentian root
- Palate: Full and spicier — cloves and cinnamon with balsamic notes, moving toward bacon, tobacco, and maple syrup
