Thomas S. Moore Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Casks
Description
Thomas S. Moore Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Casks is one of three releases in the Thomas S. Moore Extended Cask Finish series from Barton 1792 Distillery — a high-rye Kentucky bourbon aged in new charred oak and then transferred into Port casks for an additional 1–3 years of secondary maturation.
Thomas S. Moore founded the distillery in 1889 in Bardstown, Kentucky (now known as Barton 1792). The eponymous brand applies different secondary cask finishes to Barton’s signature high-rye bourbon mash bill. The Port finish brings concentrated dark-fruit and dessert-wine character to the underlying bourbon.
