Bache Gabrielsen XO Cognac
Description
Bache Gabrielsen XO Cognac is produced by the fourth-generation Bache Gabrielsen family Cognac house in Cognac, France — founded by Thomas Bache Gabrielsen in 1905. XO (“Extra Old”) designation requires a minimum of ten years aging in French oak under current French regulations (raised from six years in 2018). Dark golden with complex dried fruit, spice, and floral character.
Bache Gabrielsen is one of the few Scandinavian-owned Cognac houses, reflecting the Norwegian founder’s establishment of the business in the Charente. The XO bottling draws on eaux-de-vie from multiple Cognac crus, primarily Grande Champagne, aged in French Limousin and Troncais oak for a minimum decade.
