Contratto Vermouth Bianco

Contratto Vermouth Bianco is a Piedmontese white vermouth from the historic Contratto winery in Canelli, Italy — produced from recipes dating to the 1890s and revived after a multi-decade hiatus. Vermouth di Torino was the defining apéritif of the 1920s and ’30s, and Contratto produced 100,000 bottles annually at its peak before the category went into decline. The current production restores the full classic lineup using the family’s century-old recipes.

Bianco style vermouth is the lighter, sweeter, more aromatic of the white expressions — distinct from drier French vermouth styles. Contratto’s Bianco brings the historic Piedmontese recipe back to market with the herbs, botanicals, and Asti-region white wine base that defined the original. Excellent over ice with a citrus twist, in cocktails, or as a stirred-down apéritif on its own.
