Idle Hands 5 Year Heavy Rye Bourbon
Description
Idle Hands 5 Year Heavy Rye Bourbon is a 5+ year Indiana-distilled bourbon built on a heavy-rye mash bill — 60% corn, 36% rye, 4% barley — blended from two thirteen-barrel batches for an accessible, easy-sipping pour.
Idle Hands takes its name from a now-closed East Village rock ’n’ roll, beer, whiskey, and burger bar — a no-pretense spot to explore beer and bourbon with friends and a good soundtrack. Dave Schmier worked with former owner Rob Morton to blend the batches, selecting the proof to Rob’s preference. The release follows the NY-only 2019 Idle Hands (about 219 bottles, two 13-year barrels, quickly sold out) with a larger, more accessible run of roughly 1,000 six-bottle cases for select national distribution. Same heavy-rye mash bill used in Tumblin’ Dice.
