Laphroaig 27 Year Old Limited Edition 2017 is a double-matured Islay single malt from the ongoing aged series that began with the 200th anniversary 32 Year Old in 2015 — previously aged in refill hogsheads, then transferred into first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and refill quarter casks in Laphroaig’s famous Warehouse No.1 for a final maturation, presenting the rare whisky’s touch of trademark peat smoke tempered by lime and sea salt at 41.7% ABV.
The Laphroaig aged series — the 32 Year Old (2015), 30 Year Old (2016), and 27 Year Old (2017) — formed a three-year programme of the oldest limited Laphroaig expressions at the time.
