Tasting Notes
Nose: Sour cherry, boysenberry, kola nut, and fresh herbs. Palate: Rhubarb and ripe cherry met with bright acidity. Finish: Lengthy and persistent.
About Saintsbury
Founded by David Graves and Richard Ward, who met as graduate students in enology at UC Davis, Saintsbury focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Carneros. The winery is named for George Saintsbury, the literary historian and oenophile (1845–1933). Its Vineyard Series, created in 2004, bottles select single vineyards separately to showcase site-specific character.
