W.L. Weller is credited as among the first distillers to use wheat instead of rye as the secondary grain, producing a softer, smoother bourbon. The Weller name eventually merged with Pappy Van Winkle's A. Ph. Stitzel Distillery to form the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery.
